Hello Bloggers!
Well, after a very busy, and all hands on deck lead up to the Papercraft festival, AIP really enjoyed the 3 days at Penrith. We got to catch up with lots of familiar faces, and also got to meet lots of new customers as well.. We had demonstrations everyday, showing how to make flowers from organza ribbon, using the bow easy to make perfect bows every time, the many ways cloth paper (exclusive to AIP) can be used, how to make a gorgeous fold out mini album and how to make a never ending card! The demonstrations were very popular, and lots of paper crafters went home with new ideas and new products to play with. Below are some photo's taken before the show opened on Saturday morning.
In other Paperland news, we have some great 12 x 12 card packs with 25 sheets of cardstock for just $8.50! These packs are mixed colours, and are great value! They were very popular at the show, and we only have a limited amount, so if you would like some, pop in and have a look!
Have you checked out the latest tutorial on Facebook? It is a lovely flowerpot card made by Kerryne, and with the tutorial and easy instructions, is not as complicated as it seems. If you haven't "liked" us on Facebook, you really should, and you will always be up to date with what is happening in store.
Alice and I had a lovely visit to the Anglican Retirement Village at Castle Hill on Saturday. Alice set up shop, so that those who can't get to the store had a chance to stock up on all their craft supplies, and I did a Cuttlebug demonstration for a group of happy crafters. If you know anyone who would like a visit from the Alice In Paperland van, please just email or ring Alice on 96381523 to set up a day.
Ok, today I will leave you with a handy hint from Pinterest. Its a great way to store your ribbons so that you can see what you have got, in a straw container!
Until next time...have a happy, scrappy day!

Good morning bloggers,
So much has been happening at Alice In Paperland lately, that I don't know where to start!
Firstly, the 6 new Dylusions colors have come in along with some more Dylusions rubber satmps and also some of the new clear "Couture" stamps as well. There was much excitement and many text messages and phone calls happening when they arrived as some of us are just addicted to Dylusions and decided that these were a "must have". If you haven't had a play with Dylusions, and would like to, our next workshop is on Thursday 4th April from 10-12.30, so come along and find out what all the fuss is about. Please ring Alice and book in, as these workshops are quite popular.
The latest Graphic 45 papers have arrived! Secret Garden and French country are both beautiful new collections, with stamps, chipboard, stickers, 6x6, 8x8 and 12x12 inch pads as well as single papers available. I have been having a play with some Secret Garden papers and hopefully will have something to post in the next day or so.
New Tim Holtz stamps arrived yesterday, and I have to say, there are some great new designs, so Tim Holtz fans, pop in and check it out!
On Friday, 2 pallets of assorted papercraft products arrived at AIP, from a papercraft warehouse that is closing down. There are boxes and boxes of products including cardstock, stickers, alphabets, vellum quotes and so much more at discounted prices. I was at the store on Saturday and saw some very happy ladies going through the boxes and filling up their baskets.
Also, the lovely Nicole attended a 2 day Copic workshop on the weekend, bringing back lots of lovely samples and a brain full of copic knowledge, so if you need any help with your copic projects we have the perfect person in store from Monday to Friday!
Last but not least, the Penrith Papercraft Festival is only 3 short weeks away! Alice In Paperland will be there with lots of bargains to be had, as well as daily demonstrations on the stand. We are just inside the entrance so pop in and say hello, we would love to see you there.
Well, thats about it for now, but I will leave you with a handy hint. To clean your paintbrushes after use, even if using glue, soak them in warm water and a little bit of hair conditioner. It really works!
Have a happy, scrappy day,

Flip Flap Brag Book
Yesterday at Alice in Paperland, the ladies were making a Flip Flap Brag Book, a perfect size to slip into your handbag and show your friends all the latest family photos. The ladies were given a choice of either lilac or green with co-ordinating papers from Kaisercraft "Bundle of Joy" collection, "stork" or "mittens".
All the edges including the flower's petals were inked using vintage photo Distress Ink for added definition. The flower was made from left over DSP using Tim Holtz' "Tattered Florals" through the cuttlebug and finished with a pearl brad which holds the flower securely in place. The flower is then adhered to the belly band using a sticky dot.
Each flap is suitable for a photo and journalling tag and if desired extra pockets could be added.
These little inserts are ideal for some extra journalling or a little secret message to someone special. This was such a fun little project to make and the ladies spent a happy morning crafting together.
Happy crafting!

Dylusions workshop
Hello!
Well, we had our first dylusions workshop on Thursday 7th February at Alice In Paperland. Oh! What an inky time we had. We started with a short demonstration, and then set about creating some wonderful art with this fantastic product. We used lots of dylusions stamps as well as other stamps, and we sprayed colourful inks, until we could spray no more!
8 lovely creative, and by the end of the day, very inky ladies got to know how to use the inks, stamps and of course.... Paper towel, as well as learn from each other. I think everyone went home with new friends, new products and a new addiction.
Our next Dylusions workshop is on Thursday 7th March from 10.00 - 12.30. In this workshop, we will be introducing paint and texture paste to our art journal pages.
If you didn't come to the first one, and would like to come to the next one, that is fine. Just book in by ringing AIP on 96381523, and turn up on the day. If you have any products, bring them along, if not, the will be plenty there to play with.

Kaisercraft cupboard update
Hello bloggers,
I have finished decorating my cupboard and it will be complete once my Tim Holtz door knobs arrive. That may take a couple of weeks, so I thought I would share the almost complete cupboard.
I tore text from an old book, inked the edges of it and mod lodged it onto the cupboard, a couple of the pieces actually covered little areas that got damaged when I was putting it together the first time.
Then I stamped a background stamp which is just a weathered look onto both doors, in sepia ink. I also stamped the hanging hearts at the top in sepia. Then I stamped a door stamp on each page in black ink. I stamped the 4 Stampotique stamps onto text paper with black ink and coloured them with distress markers. I then stuck them on with mod lodge.
On the top shelf, I used a bubbly background stamp to add some texture ( I don't like blank spaces).
I stamped some Dylusions word stamps onto book paper and cut a chapter title as well and glued them to the back board. That's about it!
I will be back with a final picture once the door knobs are on, and I will show you what I am using my cupboard for.
Have a happy day

Kaisercraft Storage Cupboard Assembly
Hello bloggers,
Today I am here to post some basic instructions on assembling a Kaisercraft storage cupboard.
I have to tell you before I start, I actually struggled with mine. Persistence paid off though and now mine is assembled and staying together.
The first thing to do is to dry assemble it, so that you know where each piece goes. There are 2 shelves with holes in them, to hold the doors, so one of these goes on the top, and the other is the second shelf from the bottom. The bottom shelf is the same width as the other 2 with the holes, but it goes on the bottom to hold the 2 drawers. The other 2 shelves are narrower and have a bit cut out on each end to allow for the doors to swing.
The first thing I did was to paint all the edges purple, and let them dry. Then I painted the underside of the shelves as well. I then covered the top side of the shelves with paper. I covered both sides of the side pieces and one side of the back piece. With the small piece at the front on the bottom, I painted the edges and the back, and then papered the front. I papered both sides of the doors and poked a hole for the door knobs.
Once this is done, assembly can begin. I tried using glossy accents to glue my cupboard together, but it was not strong enough. I then tried Liquid Nails, which worked.
Lay one side piece flat and glue all the shelves into position on that side.
Next place both the doors in position. I had to get someone to help me hold them in place.
Place the other side piece onto the other end of the shelves.
Next, glue the back onto the prices you have already glued together with the papered side facing into the cupboard. Glue the small bottom piece to the front of the cupboard.
I sprayed the inside of the drawers with ink spray, and glued them together with glossy accents, and covered the side without the scoop cut out, with paper, as this was going to be my front. I then attached Tim Holtz drawer pulls to the front.
I chose to grunge mine up a bit by edging all the papers with distress ink, and adding torn text to parts of the cupboard. I still haven't finished decorating mine, but will post a picture once it is complete.
I hope this helps anyone trying to build this cupboard, as it took me 2 attempts to get mine together.
Have a happy day,
Jenni
